Leon Tjipto graduated from the University of Brighton, UK, with BEng (Hons) in Mechanical and Production Engineering in 1988, followed by a Master’s degree from University of Warwick, UK, MSc Manufacturing Systems in 1989.
After a brief stint in 1990-1992 as an engineer with one of the Singaporean disk drive companies, Leon started Getech in 1992 as one of the founding partners. Getech's initial business was the design and build of simple automated fixtures and machines. In 1993, Leon incorporated Getech Automation Pte Ltd, to serve multinational companies based in Singapore with their automation needs.
In 1995, Leon and team designed the fully Automatic in line PCBA router (PCBA depanelling), used by Seagate Technology in their SMT plant. In 1997, Leon introduced the dual lane automatic in line PCBA router, the fastest in the industry at the time. The first of multiple industry innovations and “firsts”.
Leon continues to lead Getech’s expansion into global markets and other industries. Under his management the company now employs more than 100 people, has a global footprint, and makes automated solutions for the PCB Industry, for Industrial application as well as Pharmacy solutions.
Allen W Duck
Allen W Duck – born and educated in the UK, lived in Central Europe before relocating to the USA 20 years ago, he has over 30 years’ experience in business and technology development focused in the consumer products and Circuit Board Industry. Recently appointed Getech’s COO following a 4 year period serving as the VP of International Business Development for Getech, Allen is concerned with the development and delivery of next level technologies in the PCB and Pharmacy Automation markets. As the demand for Getech’s engineered solutions increases, demand on delivery time and cost continue to be a point of focus. Allen has a mechanical engineering and computer science education from Farnborough College of Aerospace in the UK. He is the author of 3 books and holds three US Patents.

Lance joined Getech in 1989 as a student engineer while completing his degree with the Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Getech itself was a company in the making and when it opened the doors for business officially, Lance was taken on as a permanent employee. Lance moved through the Getech organization from technical specialist to design engineer before taking a leave to further his academic studies. In 1997 Lance rejoined Getech after graduating with a Masters in Production Engineering. Working as a Senior design engineer and later as the mechanical engineering manager, in 2015 Lance was promoted to the role Engineering Director covering the 3 primary disciplines in Getech. Mr. Wong joined Getech in 2003 as an applications engineer, quickly moving into the field service group. Today in the capacity of Service Manager, he co-ordinates both internal resources and external partner resources to drive customer satisfaction. As an expert in Getech machinery and PCB related processes with over 15 years of experience, our service team is mentored by one of the industry's best. Wong’s internal team is 14 strong and travels globally to Train and Support our distribution partners and users alike. With service feedback being a crucial element of continuous improvement, Wong participates in our engineering review group bring field experience to machine design.
